A Celebration of Faith and Commitment

We believe that baptism is the public proclamation of a believer showing their faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, and the union with Him in death to sin and resurrection to a new life in Christ (Acts 2:37-38, Acts 8:36-39, Romans 6:1-11). Water baptism is an external act of obedience reflecting our internal obedience to Christ (Matthew 28:19-20). It also serves as a reminder of the unity and fellowship we share in Christ (Ephesians 4:4-6).

Take the Step: Baptism in Christ

Who should be baptized?

In Acts 2:37-38 and Acts 8:12 it’s indicated that the person first “repented” of sin and “believed” in Christ and then was baptized. One who has repented and is a believer in Christ should be baptized.

Why be baptized?

Christ commanded it. He instructed His disciples saying, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19. Baptism displays an external sign of an internal transformation of one’s faith and obedience in Christ.

When are we to be baptized?

In Acts 8:35-38, Philip displays there’s no reason to delay baptism. As soon as anyone declares their belief in Christ, they can be baptized.

How are we baptized?

Matthew 3:16 and Acts 8:35-38 indicate that early believers were immersed in water.

What is the meaning of baptism?

Baptism symbolizes the washing away of sin, the new creation we’ve been transformed into, and the eternal life we have in Christ, both now and forever!
