What is a Family Dedication?

Family Dedication is an opportunity for parents or guardians, as well as the congregation, to publicly express our commitment to this God-given task.

It affirms that children are a gift from God.

Psalm 127:3-4 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth.

It acknowledges God’s tender heart towards children.

Matthew 19:14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

It recognizes God’s command that parents lovingly raise their children to know and love Him.

Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
